Who writes and who publishes

Content is written by Ryder M. and published by Magoo Media Group. Every article, review and guide carries a byline linking to the author page, together with its publication date and, where it has been revised, its last-updated date.

Sourcing standard

• Product facts come from the manufacturer or retailer. Specifications, model names and what is currently on sale are read from the company's own catalog and dated. Never from memory, and never from another affiliate site.
• Material settings come from the material's manufacturer. Temperatures, times and pressures are attributed to the company that made the product, and always paired with the instruction to check your specific material's own label.
• We distinguish claim types. A manufacturer specification, a retailer listing, our own reasoned judgment and widely-reported crafter experience are four different things, and we do not present one as another.
• We do not cite competitors' roundups as sources of fact. Those pages contradict each other on which machines are current, which is precisely the problem this site exists to address.
• No statistic without a source. If a figure cannot be sourced, it does not appear. We would rather say nothing than publish an invented number.

What we never claim

We do not run a testing lab, so no page says we tested, measured, wash-tested or personally used a product. Our recommendations are reasoned editorial judgment from documented sources, and they are framed that way throughout. We also publish no star ratings, review counts or testimonials, because we have no first-party data for any of them and mirroring a retailer's would be dishonest.

Corrections

Corrections take priority over new content. If you find an error, email contact@matandblade.com or use the contact form.

• We check the claim against the manufacturer or retailer directly.
• Factual errors are corrected as quickly as we can verify the correct information.
• A material correction — one that changes a recommendation or a factual claim a reader might have acted on — is noted on the page with the date it was made, rather than quietly edited away.
• Typographical fixes and clarifications that do not change meaning are made without a note.

Updates and dates

The last updated date on a page reflects genuine substantive change — a revised recommendation, a corrected fact, a re-verified lineup. We do not touch dates cosmetically to manufacture the appearance of freshness. A page that has not needed changing keeps its original date, which is information rather than neglect.

Product lineups are re-verified against manufacturer catalogs quarterly at minimum, and immediately when a model launches or is discontinued. See our methodology for the detail.

Sponsorship and independence

No content on this site is sponsored. We do not sell placements, we do not accept payment to review or to rank a product, and no manufacturer or retailer sees a page before it publishes or has any right of review over what it says.

The site is funded by affiliate commission, disclosed on every page that carries an affiliate link and in full on our affiliate disclosure page. Commission rates play no part in what we recommend or the order we rank things in — we routinely recommend cheaper products, competing brands, and not buying at all.

Use of AI

Content on this site is researched and editorially reviewed before publication, and product facts are verified against primary sources — the manufacturer's or retailer's own published information — rather than being taken on trust from any single tool or secondary source.
